Rey Mysterio speaks on his future and Injuries

In a promotional event for the WWE 13 game, Rey Mysterio was asked about his future in the WWE and whether he was considering retirement, he said:  “As long as I can go. I’m a person that just relies on faith and God’s will. He will eventually tell me when it’s time.”

He also spoke about what he thought was the worst injury of his career and also how wrestlers have to perform even through illness:  “Two injuries have been really bad. My ACL tears and my bicep tear. If I had to put one in front of the other, I would have to say the last ACL tear, which was almost a year and a half ago.”

“I think when we are hurt or we’re sick we have to stay on focus. Not to long ago, I wrestled on a Monday night and I had food poisoning. I was in the ring with food poisoning. Sometimes you don’t realize our health. They just see us perform out there and say that was good. But in the back, the cameras aren’t recording anymore and you tend to yourself. In this case, I had to go to the doctor’s right away.”

WWE Main Event October 24, 2012 highlights

Dolph Ziggler hates Cena

In a recent interview with  Arda Ocal of the Score TV in Canada and the Baltimore Sun, Dolph Ziggler spoke at length about John Cena and his rivalry with him.

Here’s what Dolph had to say:

“He’s been someone that I’ve looked up to, but also hated for the last five years, because he is the face, he is the franchise of the WWE.

And there’s been guys that have become World Champion and WWE Champion who are still second fiddle to what John Cena and whatever he has going on in his life. So this guy is the guy to be in the ring with.

This is the guy to go toe to toe on the mic with. This is the guy to be in the matches with that you will be in the main event. And instead of everyone going ‘Hey you had a great match. You should have been in the main event’ people will be telling me ‘Hey, it was a great match.

There’s a reason why you’re in the main event out there with John Cena, because you do what you do better than everyone else.”

New Report on Undertaker

New details are coming out about The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania 29 and it’s said that The Deadman is not in good shape at all. One thing that wasn’t reported after his WrestleMania match with Triple H this year is that the hip replacement he had a few years back was damaged pretty bad.

There is talk that some of the surgical work he has had done over the past few years is really beat up to the point that he’s back to square one. Taker had been going to see specialists in New York but he is so beat up now that WWE has been flying the doctors to his home in Texas instead. There is also a lot of talk within WWE that if he does end up doing anything at WrestleMania 29, it likely won’t be a big time physical match like we are used to. As we have noted, there is talk of having Taker work the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant with the idea he can do a few memorable spots before being eliminated.

Right now The Undertaker is not being figured into any major WrestleMania plans internally. The feeling is if he wants to do it and feels like he can do it, WWE will make room for him. It wouldn’t be the first time but it’s possible could see The Undertaker skip a WrestleMania in 2013.

It was also announced that the feature match on the October 31st episode of WWE Main Event

The Undertaker's Status For The Royal Rumble

It has been discussed of having The Undertaker compete at the 2013 Royal Rumble, possibly as a surprise entrant. They have left the idea up to him when to return, and if he wanted to have a lengthy storyline and build to Wrestlemania 29.

While many people have discussed who his opponent will be, there is still feeling in the company that Undertaker may not want to have a huge match and build like previous years.

Even though The Rock will compete in the WWE Championship Match at the Royal Rumble, WWE officials still view this as a top three Pay Per View, and would love to capitalize on the buzz surrounding the event.

Backstage News on Ryback vs. CM Punk at Hell In a Cell

WWE creative is having a hard time coming up with a finish for the Ryback vs. CM Punk match at Hell In a Cell.

They don’t want to have Ryback lose but also do not want to switch the WWE Title before the Royal Rumble in January. They also don’t want to end the pay-per-view with a screwjob and obviously can’t do a DQ finish inside the Cell.

Officials also do not want to end the show with Big Show vs. Sheamus so it appears they are going to end up having to do something that they do not want to do.

There has been a lot of online speculation about Brock Lesnar interfering to cost Ryback the match with the idea of Ryback vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania 29.

This would create a number of issues including messing up plans for Triple H’s revenge on Lesnar and the extra cost of using Lesnar on another pay-per-view above what he is contracted for.

Jeff Hardy to return to the WWE next year?

Photo: BREAKING: Jeff Hardy to return to the WWE next year? http://bit.ly/PHC8iF

Earlier this month, former WWE wrestler Jeff Hardy was interviewed by Phoenix New Times.

Interestingly, the high flying superstar was asked if he would return to the WWE once his contract with TNA expires next year.

Here’s what Jeff Hardy had to say: “Man, I really can’t answer that,” Hardy said. “I’m happy where I’m at right now with TNA. But you never say never in this business, so it depends on where I’ll be at in a few months.”

Does it mean 2013 is the year when WWE fans will get to witness the return of one of the top tag-team competitors in WWE history?

WrestleMania XXIX will turn out to be extremely interesting if Jeff Hardy’s TNA contract expires before April.

Chris Jericho Talks Working with WWE in the Future

The Daily Star has an article featuring quotes from Chris Jericho. In it, Jericho discusses the mentality in WWE and hopes to work with them again in the future.

“I don’t know if it’s bullsh*t but there is very much that attitude in WWE – sometimes ‘if you’re not with us you’re against us’. It’s been there so long I find it kinda weird.

“As you and I know, WWE lives in its own world and you can see that for any outside ventures that they do.

“I’m always cool with them and always open to going back, but it’s difficult -- I would have liked to have done more, maybe, but they want your time exclusively and the longer I’ve been there, the less time I have. Hopefully we’ll work together in the future.

“If we don’t, well, I can walk away knowing I had an amazing run and achieved everything I wanted to achieve in wrestling.”
