Orton Comments on Rumors

It was recently reported via PWInsider that Randy Orton possibly taking time off this year for personal reasons had been talked about within WWE. Orton tweeted about the rumors last night:

“Everyone’s asking me if I’m taking time off. I guess some online site said I was. Not true. Move to the next rumor on the list people.”

Orton was absent for most of 2012 due to a 60 day suspension, injury and also due to the movie 12 Rounds. It is expected that Orton will again be absent for a few shows until the release of his movie. Orton will be called around for promotional work.

However, with this tweet, a lot of Orton fans can expect a great 2013 from The Viper.

Randy Orton Replacing Rey Mysterio On Upcoming WWE Tour

Randy Orton will replace Rey Mysterio during the upcoming WWE shows in Puerto Rico next weekend. Orton will team with Sin Cara to take on Primo and Epico.

Backstage News on Rey Mysterio, Orton & Cara Returning

Randy Orton and Sin Cara are expected to be back in action at tonight’s WWE RAW tapings from Washington, DC to air on New Year’s Eve. Orton has been out with a dislocated shoulder while Cara had minor knee surgery.

No word yet on Rey Mysterio’s status but there are people within WWE who insist he is injured while others stick to the story that he’s still dealing with major personal or family issues.

Randy Orton’s Shoulder Problems

One of the issues with Randy Orton’s shoulder dislocations is that he has hypermobile shoulders. It’s a condition that allows his shoulders to stretch back much farther than the average person. The flip side is that he’s more prone to injuries, mainly shoulder dislocations and in the long run, his shoulder joints can wear out much faster than a normal person. When Orton gets older, he will be a strong candidate for osteoarthritis.

Randy Orton has been removed from the official list of advertised talent on upcoming Smackdown holiday live events.

Orton is not being advertised until the December 30th Smackdown taping from The Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA. Local event information may differ.

Randy Orton reportedly suffered a wrist injury at the Sunday taping of the Tribute to the Troops special. He was held off of Raw last night, but is still being advertised for tonight's Smackdown tapings.

WWE Falsely Advertises Randy Orton

 

Randy Orton was among the lumberjacks advertised in WWE’s promotional graphic on Raw for the CM Punk vs. Sheamus match, but did not appear.

Orton noted on Twitter in the morning that production for 12 Rounds: Reloaded in Vancouver, British Columbia, wrapped up the night before. Orton will be on hand for tonight’s SmackDown taping in Providence, Rhode Island.

After working last night’s SmackDown tapings, Randy Orton took a flight back to Vancouver this morning for his last week of filming WWE Studios’ 12 Rounds: Reloaded.

Orton confirmed on Twitter that they will wrap the movie in the next week.

WWE Planning Randy Orton Heel Turn

Randy Orton has been very vocal about turning heel, and it appears that WWE will try and make him happy by turning him heel as soon as possible.

Orton is currently filming 12 Rounds: Reloaded, and when that is complete, and WWE officials feel that Sheamus is strong enough to carry the Smackdown shows as the top babyface, they will do the Orton turn.

On His Latest Suspension : "That was really hard for me," Orton says of the suspension. "Not because of how fans would look at me or how my folks would look at me. To be honest, my mom and dad were happy that I had 60 days off. I was worked to the bone for the last four years. What really hurt most about this suspension is that, when my [4-year-old] daughter's older, she can go back ."

On His Family Being O His Last DVD : "I look back at my DVD that came out last year, and I had my wife and daughter on there," Orton said. "I really, really, kick myself for doing that. It was a good story, but it just gives people ammunition. For all the good that me doing what I do has done for my family, there are just as many negatives."

On Social Media Exposing His Life : "Instead of being able to tune in a few hours a week and watch us on TV, they can talk about us, claim to have knowledge about every aspect of our personal lives, type this knowledge, and then it's written as truth."

Randy Orton Still Lobbying For a Heel Turn

Since his return from suspension, Randy Orton has been very vocal behind the scenes about turning heel, as he feels his character is better suited as a heel, however WWE officials are hesitant to turn him heel as they want Sheamus to get over as the top baby face on Smackdown before turning Orton.

The feeling is that Orton will eventually turn heel, and it could be as soon as by the end of this year.
