Undertaker doubtful for WrestleMania29!

The Undertaker -3

According  to the reports by PWInsider, Undertaker may not be able to be a part of  WrestleMania 29 because of his deteriorating health conditions. If his health does not permit him, it will be the first time in many years that the Deadman won’t  be a part of WrestleMania.

He was reported telling the PWInsider that he would show up on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

As per reports, these decisions made by him are at a standstill as his health concerns are not permitting him to do anything.

WWE Speculates On When Undertaker May Return

The official WWE website has published an article looking at when The Undertaker may return to the ring after Triple H stated Monday at the 2012 Slammy Awards, “You have not seen the last of The Undertaker.”

WWE states, “Now the only question is when The Undertaker will make his return again? Will it be at the Royal Rumble, making a bid for a championship opportunity at WrestleMania? Or perhaps the Elimination Chamber, where a similar opportunity may present itself? The past two years, The Phenom resurfaced on Raw both to receive and to accept a WrestleMania challenge. Perhaps in his seclusion, he’s selected a Superstar as a potential opponent.

“It could be tomorrow. It could be next Friday. It could be the week before WrestleMania. Either way, the promise is out there: “You have not seen the last of The Undertaker.” Now, all that’s left to do is wait.”

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk at WM?

As of this week, it appears that The Undertaker will be working at WrestleMania 29. With his potential opponents limited to strong heels that can get a great match out of him, the current front runner is CM Punk. It will be interesting to see how they get there.

New Report on Undertaker

New details are coming out about The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania 29 and it’s said that The Deadman is not in good shape at all. One thing that wasn’t reported after his WrestleMania match with Triple H this year is that the hip replacement he had a few years back was damaged pretty bad.

There is talk that some of the surgical work he has had done over the past few years is really beat up to the point that he’s back to square one. Taker had been going to see specialists in New York but he is so beat up now that WWE has been flying the doctors to his home in Texas instead. There is also a lot of talk within WWE that if he does end up doing anything at WrestleMania 29, it likely won’t be a big time physical match like we are used to. As we have noted, there is talk of having Taker work the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant with the idea he can do a few memorable spots before being eliminated.

Right now The Undertaker is not being figured into any major WrestleMania plans internally. The feeling is if he wants to do it and feels like he can do it, WWE will make room for him. It wouldn’t be the first time but it’s possible could see The Undertaker skip a WrestleMania in 2013.

The Undertaker's Status For The Royal Rumble

It has been discussed of having The Undertaker compete at the 2013 Royal Rumble, possibly as a surprise entrant. They have left the idea up to him when to return, and if he wanted to have a lengthy storyline and build to Wrestlemania 29.

While many people have discussed who his opponent will be, there is still feeling in the company that Undertaker may not want to have a huge match and build like previous years.

Even though The Rock will compete in the WWE Championship Match at the Royal Rumble, WWE officials still view this as a top three Pay Per View, and would love to capitalize on the buzz surrounding the event.

Latest on The Undertaker’s WrestleMania 29 Status

At this time, word is that the decision to wrestle at WrestleMania 29 is being left up to the Undertaker. WWE wants him on the card, but also feels that he has earned the right to decide if he feels he is physically up for committing to a full WrestleMania storyline and match. There is also talk of possibly just using him for an Royal Rumble appearance if he doesn't work WrestleMania.

Backstage News About Undertaker

There has been talk of doing Ryback vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 with a Streak vs. Streak build. We’ve noted before that the CM Punk and Ryback interactions are just teasers.

Apparently they’re not looking to do anything solid between Punk and Ryback until November or December.

Speaking of The Undertaker, with recent WrestleMania discussions happening, there are some people speculating that Taker may not even perform at WrestleMania 29, meaning last year may have been his last WrestleMania match. While nothing is 100% yet, the feeling among most is that he will return.
