Update on Rey Mysterio

The 619 specialist returned to Friday’s RAW live event in LA, although the WWE says the company has not confirmed a scheduled date that would see his full-time return.

Sources report that Mysterio’s return maybe seen for Sunday’s Royal Rumble, or at least for Tuesday’s SmackDown event.

Rey Mysterio was injured in an in-ring accident leaving him with a concussion, and required immediate surgery. The Superstar made an amazing recovery to come back to the WWE.

Rey Mysterio Returning To Action

Rey Mysterio is scheduled to return to the ring at Friday's RAW live event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. No word yet if he will be returning to WWE TV next week.

Story behind Del Rio win

The new World HeavyWeight Champion, Alberto Del Rio, won the title from The Big Show in an Last Man Standing match. Reports suggest that Del Rio won the match to shoot Del Rio up as the new Mexican star, with Rey Mysterio not being around and Sin Cara turning out to be a disappointment.

Cara was ready to work this week, but was not used.

Apparently, the idea is to push Del Rio harder than Mysterio and Sin Cara to make a genuine Mexican draw out of him.

To achieve this, Del Rio was made to survive a ton of punishment before coming back to win the Last Man Standing stipulation, that was added to the match on SmackDown.

Rey Mysterio reason for exit revealed

According to PWInsider, the reason why the famous masked man left the WWE as of late is because he has been dealing with a family matter that has been ongoing and has required him to take time off.

WWE is working hard to accommodate his needs, as there has been no heat on Mysterio for this.

Randy Orton Replacing Rey Mysterio On Upcoming WWE Tour

Randy Orton will replace Rey Mysterio during the upcoming WWE shows in Puerto Rico next weekend. Orton will team with Sin Cara to take on Primo and Epico.

Backstage News on Rey Mysterio, Orton & Cara Returning

Randy Orton and Sin Cara are expected to be back in action at tonight’s WWE RAW tapings from Washington, DC to air on New Year’s Eve. Orton has been out with a dislocated shoulder while Cara had minor knee surgery.

No word yet on Rey Mysterio’s status but there are people within WWE who insist he is injured while others stick to the story that he’s still dealing with major personal or family issues.

Reason For WWE Pulling Mysterio From Upcoming Events

Rey Mysterio was not at Monday’s RAW from Greensboro, NC and has been pulled from WWE live events for the next couple of weeks.

A WWE spokesperson told Raj Giri of WrestlingINC.com that Mysterio is taking a short break to attend to some personal matters.

Mysterio competed at SmackDown live events this past weekend, teaming with The Usos to defeat 3MB. While no official date was given for his return, he remains advertised for SmackDown live events at the end of the month.

In regards to the long expected Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara match taking place, Wednesday that it’s “still very likely” to occur on April 7, 2013 at WrestleMania XXIX

Rey Mysterio speaks on his future and Injuries

In a promotional event for the WWE 13 game, Rey Mysterio was asked about his future in the WWE and whether he was considering retirement, he said:  “As long as I can go. I’m a person that just relies on faith and God’s will. He will eventually tell me when it’s time.”

He also spoke about what he thought was the worst injury of his career and also how wrestlers have to perform even through illness:  “Two injuries have been really bad. My ACL tears and my bicep tear. If I had to put one in front of the other, I would have to say the last ACL tear, which was almost a year and a half ago.” 

“I think when we are hurt or we’re sick we have to stay on focus. Not to long ago, I wrestled on a Monday night and I had food poisoning. I was in the ring with food poisoning. Sometimes you don’t realize our health. They just see us perform out there and say that was good. But in the back, the cameras aren’t recording anymore and you tend to yourself. In this case, I had to go to the doctor’s right away.”

WWE Confirms Rey Mysterio’s Status

Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Team Rhodes Scholars in the tag team tournament finals is still scheduled for tonight’s RAW. WWE has also announced Kane vs. The Big Show for tonight’s episode.

WWE sent out a text message moments ago stating that Rey Mysterio is at the Izod Center, the site of tonight’s RAW, and will compete on tonight’s episode.

Match Announced For Next Week's Monday Night Raw

Rey MysterioDue to an illness, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow in the finals of the WWE Tag Team Championship Tournament will take place next week on Raw.

Michael Cole announced this before Rhodes and Sandow's tag team match.

Rey Mysterio Talks About Retirement

In an interview, Rey Mysterio said that he feels like the main thing left to accomplish in WWE is being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but that does not mean he’s considering retirement.“No, not at all. After this surgery, it kind of set me back almost a year trying to get my knee back in shape and recovered. I have my limitations as far as what I can do in the ring, but I manage to be creative with my style. I think that is what keeps me still able to perform for my fans. As long as I keep doing that, I’m good to go.”

Mysterio acknowledged his concussion at Summerslam sidelining from this weekend’s house show tour. Mysterio provided an update to his status.“As of right now, I’m just waiting and taking another impact test and finding out the results.

Rey Mysterio's Return Revealed

Rey Mysterio will return at next week's SmackDown taping on July 17th from the Valley View Casino in his hometown of San Diego, CA.

The return may happen off-camera, as Mysterio was expected to make his televised return to the company on the 1,000th episode of RAW on July 23rd. WWE has yet to list Mysterio for any upcoming events, including next week's Smack-down taping in San Diego.

Update : Rey Mysterio and Mark Henry

Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio are both currently set for a return at the 1,000th Raw. WWE has held off on the returns to give the show more impact. They are looking for anything they can to make the show more memorable.

Rey Mysterio was reportedly backstage at last night’s WWE RAW Supershow from Laredo, Texas but obviously was not used. Rey was eligible to return last week but they pushed his return back to this week but for some reason it has been delayed again. Rey should be returning imminently but is still not being advertised for any WWE events. It’s still possible that Rey qualifies for Money in the Bank this week.
