WWE Main Event Spoilers – 1/15/13

Randy Orton wrestled to a no contest against Antonio Cesaro.

The Shield interfered and attacked Orton during the match.

The Miz came down to make the save, however Cesaro took the Miz out while The Shield put Orton through a table.

Brad Maddox came out for commentary.

The Usos defeated The Prime Time Players.

Wade Barrett lost a non-title gauntlet match. Barrett defeated Yoshi Tatsu, JTG, and Justin Gabriel, but lost to Kofi Kingston.

20-Man Battle Royal Set for Main Event

WWE taped the following matches tonight in Rochester, New York to air on the December 26th episode of Main Event:

Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre vs. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel

20-man battle royal to determine a new #1 contender for the WWE United States Title
The winner of the battle royal will face Antonio Cesaro on the January 2nd episode of Main Event.

The dark match before tonight’s tapings in Rochester saw Alicia Fox defeat Aksana.

Ryback In Action On Main Event

Ryback vs. Alberto Del Rio was announced for this week's episode of WWE Main Event, which will be taped tomorrow night at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT.

It was announced on Raw tonight that this week's edition of WWE Main Event will be headlined by John Cena vs Damien Sandow.

>> Tyson Kidd fought Santino Marella to a no-contest. The match ended when Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns jumped in the ring and beat down both men. They exited through the crowd.

>> Miz cuts a promo but is interrupted by Ziggler.

>> Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz.

>> Ziggler cut a promo on Cena.

>> Wade Barrett defeated Justin Gabriel.

Johnny Curtis beat a local wrestler.

Randy Orton, Sin Cara, and Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio and The Prime Time Players.

Wade Barrett defeated Tyson Kidd.

During the show, they hyped an updated on referee Brad Maddox. They also hyped a segment with A.J. about the scandal on the Titan Tron and even said it was next, but neither segment ever made it to the ring nor did they air anything taped backstage.

Match for Halloween Main Event

It was also announced that the feature match on the October 31st episode of WWE Main Event
will be Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton vs. Darren Young, Titus O’Neil and Alberto Del Rio.

Johnny Curtis defeated Sami Callahan. Johnny came out sporting his new look. After the match he placed a  rose on Callahan’s chest.

Ryback Coming to WWE Main Event

The feature match on next week’s WWE Main Event on Ion will see Dolph Ziggler take on Ryback. The match was made after Ziggler defeated Zack Ryder on last night’s episode in a quick match. Ziggler then issued an open challenge that was answered by Ryback to close the show.

WWE may end up having Ryback vs. Ziggler be that show’s quick match and tape another feature match as top matches on Main Event have been going around 15-20 minutes.

Michael Cole and The Miz started in the middle of the ring like last week, and they hyped up Randy Orton vs. Big Show for the main event. They threw it to a Big Show hype video, and Show talked about how he's fed up.

Josh Mathews interviewed Show backstage, and Show basically threatened to punch Josh in the face. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Back in the ring, Miz talked about being KO'd by Show before and how it sucks, then Cole tossed it to an Orton hype video. Arn Anderson, Cena, Triple H and Batista all talk about how nothing can stop Randy.

Matt Striker interviewed Orton backstage. Randy said he's coming for Alberto Del Rio later. As for Big Show, lightning can't strike twice, but a viper can. Orton vs. Show is up first for Main Event.

#  Big Show defeated Randy Orton. Show won with a chokeslam in roughly 17 minutes.

Backstage, Josh Mathews interviewed Sheamus, who said he came to fight and there's no bigger fight than Big Show.

#  Kofi Kingston over Michael McGillicutty. Kingston won in about two minutes with an S.O.S.

Miz came in the ring to interview Kofi, who said his match was fun. Miz said Kofi will never be at his level. Kofi asked for a match next week on Main Event, and Miz accepted. Kofi wants the title to be on the line. Miz said no, but Kofi goaded him into it. The IC Title match is set for next week with Miz vs. Kingston.

CM Punk To Face Ryback At WWE Event This Week

For the first time, WWE Champion CM Punk will go one-on-one with Ryback at this Friday's Raw and SmackDown SuperShow in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the ASU Convocation Center.

Also announced for the event is a World Heavyweight Championship Match between Sheamus and Big Show. Kane, Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay and WWE Divas are also scheduled to appear.

Michael Cole and The Miz were on commentary. They introduced the show and spoke about the lineup.

C.M. Punk and Paul Heyman were interviewed by Matt Striker in the backstage area.

Sheamus did a backstage interview.

C.M. punk defeated Sheamus in a champion vs. champion match. Good back and forth match. Sheamus missed the Brogue Kick and hit his head on the turnbuckle. Punk got the pin. After the match, Sheamus cut a promo in which he said he was going to face Punk again and would hit the Brogue Kick on him.

Santino Marella and Zack Ryder defeated Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel in a first-round tag team tournament match. A decent match that saw Kid and Gabriel work over Santino the majority of the time.

The main event for next week's show was announced as Randy Orton vs. Big Show.

Another Match Announced for WWE Main Event

 

Zack Ryder and Santino Marella will face Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd in a tag team tournament match on Wednesday’s WWE Main Event television show.

The winning team will face Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow in the semifinals at a later date.

Two Promotional Advertisements For “WWE Main Event”

WWE has released two promotional advertisements for WWE Main Event, premiering Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 8/7 PM CT on ION Television.
